Piano Service Technician Customer Testimonials
Hi Dwight,
I spent several hours playing today and I couldn't believe how great the piano sounded and how much different it felt! There were several old annoying problems that went away (like the clicking A key), but the best part was how much better I was able to control the dynamics. I pulled out a piece I had quit working on months ago because it just never sounded that good. I thought I did not have the skill to make it work, but today I made great progress. Now, I can see what I need to keep working on, but it seems possible, as compared to before, when I just saw no point in continuing to work on the piece. I just wanted you to know how happy I am with the fantastic work you did! Thank you so much, JB.
My name is Rusty Isaiah Downs. I have had the privilege of Dwight’s expertise tuning and technician work on my 1987 Kawai Continental Console Piano for over 23 years. I am also a professional church musician/organist and a member of the American Guild of Organists, Springfield, IL Chapter. Dwight has serviced many pianos from many of the church positions I have held over the last 37 years. He even reconditioned a Chickering Grand piano that one of my churches purchased used, and when he was finished it was like new!
His tuning is superb and his technical work and knowledge surpasses anyone I have ever met. Dwight is dedicated, reliable, and continues to keep himself educated on the technical aspects of pianos in order to give the best service to his customers. Most folks just know that their piano needs tuned but many don’t understand that there are many other areas that need adjustment and repairs on their instrument over the years.
We have many fine piano tuners here in Central Illinois but very few piano tuner-technicians. The difference is night and day when servicing a piano. When Dwight tunes my piano twice a year anything that needs adjusted, tightened, or regulated is taken care of right along with the tuning. And because I am a professional musician and use my instrument daily, any mechanical needs and adjustments on my instrument become more noticeable. The average household piano is tuned on average once a year. I can honestly say that every time my piano has been tuned (twice a year) there have been some minor adjustments, and every few years adjustments are needed on the piano’s action that only a piano technician can do to regulate and bring it back to new condition.
Keeping your instrument in technical superb condition by an expert piano technician is just as important as keeping your piano in tune by a qualified piano tuner. This is the reason Dwight’s Piano Works continues to be my choice for my home instrument and any church piano I serve on. Many of our church pianos that serve congregations and choirs have only been kept in tune over the many years because most piano tuners are not technicians.
This young Christian man gives it his all when he works on my piano. I always know that I am getting the very best service and that means a lot these days. His prices are very reasonable and worth every penny. He will tell you when something is wrong and work with you in getting it repaired.
In my 46 years as a church musician, I have never found another tuner-technician like Dwight. If you need a reference of work and/or character, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Dwight’s Piano Works will certainly be the “BEST CHOICE” for all your piano needs!

Mr. Denzer:
I have been meaning to let you know about the great compliments that I received after you tuned and worked extensively on my Baldwin Grand Piano in February. I had you to prepare it for a reception that I was having for Jade Simmons, guest pianist for the Illinois Symphony. As you recall it had just arrived from Minnesota with my son.
Ms. Simmons was ecstatic with the tone of the piano and its overall performance. She could not talk enough about its mint condition. As a result Robert Plano, the next guest pianist for the Symphony, asked for a place to practice and I was called for him to use the piano. He raved as well about the tone and condition of the piano.
I just wanted to let you know that your work was appreciated and of the greatest quality as stated by these guest artists as well as my son who played it constantly until he left for Idaho.
Thank you and I have told several of your outstanding work.
